Paul Graham Slam/Parody

Thanks to Brandon for leading me to Zach Beane’s wonderful Paul Graham parody — Taste for the Web. If you’ve ever spent time reading any of Paul Graham’s articles, you’ll appreciate this.

Viaweb did not rely on client-side Javascript, fancy cascading style sheets, or dynamic content generation. Yet it was effective enough that Yahoo! bought it for $49.6 million. $49.6 million will buy a lot of time for reflecting on the things that really matter, such as why Google Maps and GMail represent one step in the road to intellectual and cultural bankruptcy for Google.

This little bit is such a slam but yet true to Paul’s form of bragging on his upstart company’s success (and not so much success on its own but rather just being bought by Yahoo!).
